We’ve had a few folks inquire about why their name isn’t on the list of who’s coming to PodCamp Boston. When you registered and got your tickets, one of the questions was “Should we display your registration publicly”. We take your privacy very, very seriously! If you had checked “No”, your name will not appear on the list of who’s coming to PodCamp. If you’d like your registration to be displayed, please email podcampboston at gmail dot com with a subject line of “Please display my registration!” and we’ll edit the list appropriately.

Sponsorship tables are now CLOSED

Due to the need to get accurate table counts to the BCEC venue operations department, we can no longer guarantee that any sponsor who donates after today will get a physical table. We will still gladly allocate space for additional sponsors, but you will need to bring your own table/booth for the UnExpo floor.

After event costs

A few people have wondered why two PodCamp Boston party events have costs associated with them. The short version is that venues for large crowds in Boston are fairly pricey; while we had some extremely helpful work done by Shava Nerad and Matthew Fishman on sourcing alternative venues and Kristen Crusius in musical event booking, in the end having a venue within walking distance of the Convention Center (rather than try to move a large group of people by road or mass transit, which in Boston can be a challenge) more than justified the Saturday night venue at the Boston Seaport Hotel, and a music booking at the Bulfinch Yacht Club on Friday night.
Even with the help of exceptionally generous sponsors like Jeff Pulver, there are still significant expenses to be managed, such as audio/visual setup for the venue, so there’s a nominal cost of $9.99 for the Saturday night event, and a nominal at-door cost of $8 on Friday night for the 9:45 PM concert with Matthew Ebel and Munk.
PodCamp participants are not required in any way to attend the evening events on either night (though we certainly encourage you to have fun!); no sessions will be presented, nor will any official PodCamp business be conducted. The evening events are just a great way for folks to get together and chat in a more informal atmosphere.
As always, all participants are encouraged to visit the Open Ledger and see exactly how the money is being handled.
